Bikes in Philly. The strangest phenomenon I have experienced. First off, it seems almost everyone has one. Finding a chaining spot is probably more difficult than parking a car. From getting mine stolen (see sad first image), being knocked over, crashing, battling to take them on the subway….to today, where a friend managed to get hers anonymously returned! My faith is reinstated for “life in the big city”. October 2010.

UArts Design Charrette 2010. 3 days of intensive designing and relaxing during the charette, based around human virtues and the elements. Designing was mixed in with scheduled meditation, yoga and eating time which created a great feeling around the department.

Our project brought together ‘earth’ and ‘consideration’. After walking around the city, we realised that there was so much natural space in Philadelphia that goes unnoticed -so decided to create a way for people to not only be aware of this, but to be guided to the space and reconsider how incredible it is to have these spaces in the city. In other words, ‘natures business card’.

We did this by designing laser cut leaves with an address of a closeby park and we have left them around the city for people to find and interpret as they wish.

Strangest Food Experience! FoodParc in New York City. Absolutely no human interaction needed, just type in your order and they text you when your order is ready. Not so cool however when you put your fried rice in your bag, to have it spill all over a nice new Muji notebook….
