Pipes and Drains

Posted in Everyday, Product Design by pipesanddrains on February 22, 2010

A piece of work from Febuary 2008, the project was called ‘speak to me’, where we were to combine utilitarian objects with words that would make these objects talk. I looked at vintage from the angle of a material wearing away over time, for example the lightening of parchment or rusting of iron. The final outcome is an iron bottle using red paint that will corode over time, giving aesthetic qualities of a story from the past which makes the object more beautiful even though it is effectively damaged.
